I work for the police dept. and a security company so I am on my feet all day I walk about 15 miles a day and these boots are extremely comfortable. Our entire security staff has purchased these boots upon my advice. We have 9 officers and all of them agreed with me.

Low quality leather and stitching Jun 01, 2011

The boots are very comfortable.
The ripple sole looks stupid, but otherwise the appearance is fine.
After only a couple weeks, the leather started to crack where it bent a lot, even though I oiled and polished my boots ever day.
After a few weeks the stitches came loose in parts but nothing major.
These are the best boots for the price, though.
I would recommend that you buy them a half size smaller than you think because they seem to run a bit large. If you are a size eleven, there won't be a size 10.5, so get some inserts and it'll fit much better.

I work security and needed a good pair of boots, saw these, read the reviews and gave it a shot. these boots are very comfortable, light, and do the job! one of the people that gave a review said to get'em one size smaller than you normally wear, I ordered one size smaller, thought I had made a mistake, than tried to change to my normal size hour later (too late), but the boots fit perfect! advice was correct. good price! great boots!

Well i'm a Miner ,and i go from jungle boot to diving suit ,and i rappel paramotor paraglide ,and hike countless miles into the wilderness just to find a spec that you need a magnifying glass to see on a map. Rough and rugged, I also pack 100 to 250 lbs of equipment on top of it all. I needed a boot that could breathe hold extra wool socks and go the distance, well this boot does my feet stay dry. I suggest mil spec or civi spec merino wool anti-microbrial boot sock unless you like blisters. This boot is tough'n rugged and dependable from city to deep wilderness a true 5 star boot.

I wear a 12 running shoe and ordered an 11 in these because others said to in their reviews. They were correct; one size down from normal works well. The medium(R) width feels good and secure on my narrow feet. I am surprised how comfortable these are. There are no "hard" spots that rub or hurt your feet/ankles.
The heels are 1 1/2 inch thick; the sole at the toe is about 7/8 inch thick. The toes look more crowned in shape than the Amazon picture.
If these hold up, they are a real good deal and 5 stars.
