4Great Shoes - Great Prices  Jan 01, 2010
By Jem "Jem"
Unlike the previous post, I have always had good luck when purchasing DCs for my son. Depending upon the shoe, the style does make all the difference. Some of the shoes are not as durable as others. When I look for shoes for my son, I look at the toe part first. Most of the "rounded-toe" shoes seem to be a bit cheaper construction. I know it sounds weird but if you compare the shoes, you will see what I am talking about. Also, I look at the stitching. If it looks more like the pieces are just glued then I do not buy them. This particular style has both a nice, tough stitching and are glued. I also look at the soles. Some shoes tend to have really cheap almost plastic-like soles. This style has a nice rubberized sole which seems to be a bit more durable and lasts longer. The only real issue that I would have with any DC shoe is some of the graphics. I recently purchased a pair for my son for Christmas and when they arrived I was shocked to see that they had graphics of naked ladies, guns, snakes, and skulls. Totally not appropriate for my 8-year old. (The graphics were not that visible online and nothing in the desciption mentioned the type of graphics - I seriously thought they were pictures of people skateboarding...) Anyhow, all-in-all, I am very pleased with this pair as I have been with all that I have purchased in the past. My son is pretty rough on his shoes so I always buy DCs for him. I would definitely recommend them to all.

As I do every time I buy DCs for my kids I kick myself about 2 weeks later!! My experience with DC shoes is that they are not made to be played or used for active anything and if so they start looking ratty about 1-2 weeks later. My advice is to find some Osiris shoes at a good price here on Amazon because the DCs are not made for kids. My husband has had his for over a year but has rarely wore them and they still look good.
