5Perfect Boat Shoe  Mar 08, 2010
By KK
I absolutely love these shoes. I just purchased my second pair since my first pair is getting a little old now. I have the tan boat shoes- they are so comfortable and look great (I pretty much wear them everywhere and I've never had problems with them). I tried on the Sperry boat shoes and they just didn't compare to these. The only thing I would say is that they run a little bit big; I usually wear a 9, but for these shoes I have an 8.5. Basically, I would definitely recommend this shoe to anyone!

4Boat shoes  Oct 02, 2010
By Ally
I really wanted a pair of boat shoes (like Sperry's), because I'd heard they were really comfortable, but I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on them. These were the cheapest ones I could find, but I was kind of hesitant about the whole off-brand Sperry's thing, because I thought they might not be AS comfortable. I considered just buying the more expensive brand, but my boyfriend talked me into taking a chance on these.

They arrived within the right time frame, they fit perfectly, and they were/are very comfortable! However, like all shoes, they did need to be broken in; the backs of the shoes ended up leaving really painful cuts on my ankles, but I put Band-Aids over them and kept wearing them, and after about a week they were broken in completely (though I had to continue wearing the bandages another week or so because of the cuts). The inside of the shoe is extremely comfortable because the cushion rises to support the arch of the foot, which is wonderful. The only other complaint I have is that they seem to get dirty really easily. I had only been wearing them a week and the backs of the shoes were grayish. However, I think it's because I got them in such a light color (I ordered tan), but regardless, they're not too hard to clean.

Overall, I'd recommend them. They're really comfy and I hardly ever wear any other shoes now, and I'm considering buying another pair in the darker brown color.

I purchased these shoes as a Christmas gift for my wife. She absolutely loves them and thanks to Amazon.com I was able to purchase them for much less than retail.

5A little tight at first, but worked out fine. See update  Apr 22, 2011
By Laura Mason
I ordered these just before an off-shore trip, not wanting to pay the high cost of Sperrys I usually get. I ordered my real size, and when they first arrived and I tried them on, I was afraid that they'd be too small. I like my shoes a little tight when they're new, so that they won't get sloppy later.

I used the freezer treatment on them - putting ziplock bags in the toes, filling them with water, and then putting them in the freezer. When the water freezes, it expands about ten percent. It does the same thing as a shoe stretcher, but costs less. You have a lot of control over where the bag is, thus where the shoe stretches. You can expand the shoes again and again, but be careful to only go so far, as it's possible to break the stitching. After a couple of freezes, I tried them on, and they're just right.

These are called "Loafers", not "Deck Shoes", so I don't know yet how good they'll work on a wet deck. They are nice and comfortable for every day shoes.

Update: December 28, 2011
I thought I'd update this review since I've had some serious miles of sailing with them now. They're just fine for gripping the deck, and that's essential for boat shoes!

I absolutely love these. They fit perfect, and although they are not sperrys, I have gotten so many compliments on them, and they are just wonderful. Fit perfect, feel perfect, I like the cushioning it gives on the inside. LOVE THE SHOES! - Thinking about buying more in a different color soon :)
