Waterproof Hushpuppies Jan 12, 2008
By J. Snavely Wonderful product! I bought them for a two week visit to Seattle. It rained nearly every day and my feet stayed warm and dry. The shoes are extremely comfortable as well. Well worth the price.

Favorites Jan 15, 2009
By A. Engleson I bought these shoes for my husband in 2006 and he's finally busted 'em. They lasted great for him wearing them everyday without bothering to shine or dye them. He tells me the neoprene along the ankles is very comfortable as well as the gel inserts.
Last week the top of the gel insert came loose and messed up the sole. Perhaps from the heat and sweat of his foot for so long a time.
Love them, buying the exact same thing again!

Fills the need Apr 05, 2012
By Arthur Castrinos These shoes are exactly what I expected from Hush Puppies, they are comfortable and are waterproof. They are what I needed, I live in Ecuador and it is the rainy season now and the shoes are perfect. Please excuse my English.

Abrasive to your ankles Jan 06, 2012
By Todd Moon I'm surprised no one else in these comments has had the same complaint I do. The ankle area of the shoe is neoprene rubber covered in cloth. It looks great and has a nice feel except for one painful detail. Hush Puppies decided to put the stitched seam right behind your Achilles tendon. The rubber curves out nicely to account for the back of your ankle, but then it juts out 1/8 of an inch right in the center where the stitching is. The result is an abrasive little bump rubbing on the back of your ankle. It feels like a little nub of sandpaper!
Here's an image to show the stitching I'm talking about: http://i.imgur.com/mRlyx.jpg
Since this ankle area is neoprene I'm not sure it will ever break-in like leather would. At least not for a long, long time. You can stretch it, but it just bounces back. The whole ankle area is tighter than I'd like, and this contributes to the problem. My previous pair of shoes were the Hush Puppies Lunar II, and they didn't have any problems like this. I ordered the exact same size as before, so I don't think this is a size issue.
The rest of the shoe is great. It's very well constructed and looks nice. It looks like it would indeed be waterproof. Everything looks sealed up tight. It's a real pity they are unwearable. I'll have to return them.

Very comfortable for a casual day in cold, wet weather. Dec 13, 2011

I bought the Tan style.
They hold up nicely in slush and cold water and slip on & off very easily. Only downsides are they can be a bit slippery on ice and smooth concrete, but since these clearly arent ice cleats I shouldnt be too upset. Also they arent the most comfortable walking shoes I've ever had. My SAS are nicer and easier for all day walking. These Hush Puppies would be fine for normal use but not walking up and down a mountain or for long all day hikes. They are a teeny bit stiff.
They look much better than sneakers and so will probably replace most of my footwear for every day use. In the winter time I will only need heavy boots for shoveling snow, but the Hush Puppies are for everything else.
