5Just What My Feet Need!  Feb 28, 2009
By annie "grannieannie"
I have been buying these New Balance shoes for about 4 years and won't even consider buying a different shoe. After being diagnosed with plantar fascitis by my podiatrist years ago, I learned that good shoes are a must have. These shoes are very comfortable and give my foot all the support it needs. Another thing that is important about this shoe is the rollbar which controls pronation.

5The best tennis shoe ever  Mar 07, 2009
By Nora E. Dunn
New Balance is the best Tennis shoe I've ever worn. And, it is the 800 series that I've been wearing for the last nine years. It's the only tennis shoe I can wear where my toes don't cramp and cross causing me much pain. I used to do a lot of 10K walks and ended up having a problem with my feet. Someone told me about these and so I bought them. From the moment I put them on and put my orthodics inside, I felt a huge relief. These are the only ones I can wear. They are a bit pricey but comfortable.

5exactly what I needed  Apr 14, 2009
By J. Borders
I researched the style shoe and this shoe lived up to exactly what it promised. An unexpected positive thing is the tongue of the shoe is anchored on each side with elastic. That keeps it from sliding to one side or the other while walking. They looked smaller than my other shoes when I got them, but they are exactly the same size. With feet as big as mine, I need all the optical illusions I can get. I get a lot of compliments on them.

4A Nice Looking Shoe !  Aug 07, 2009
By D. M. Schmidt
I found this shoe to run a half size smaller than other New Balance shoes that I own. Lucky for me I looked at Zappo's website first and found that 78% of the people who bought these shoes said they are a half size smaller than marked. So I ended up ordering a half size larger than I usually take. I am surprise that no one else has mentioned this. No breaking in is needed they felt good from the start. For me I have to keep them laced up all the way in order to keep my heels from slipping in them. The shoe laces are very long which is nice but will drag on the ground if not laced up all the way. I have a wide width size D and the shoe fits okay but I have had New Balance shoes that had a little more ample room in the toe box area. I kind of wish these did to because very thick socks might be out of the question but at least in these your feet don't look like clown's feet. I have plantar fasciitis and New Balance along with my inserts has been very helpful in taking away my pain. Instead of using those expensive orthopedic inserts the doctor tries to sell you I use the Birkenstock blue heeled inserts instead. I started to notice a difference right away but it took probably a good month for all of the pain to reside. Another shoe you might be interest in and is very comfortable and well ventilated (if you have sweaty feet) is the WR1123 by New Balance. They are better than these shoes except on rainy days and the fit is true to size. In the end I could not see giving these shoes 5 stars because;

1. It could use a little more room in the toe box area
2. Runs a half size smaller
3. Needs a tighter heel area to prevent your heel from slipping out of the shoe.
4. Overpriced!

Over all it is a nice looking shoe but not worth paying a high price for. I would wait for it to go on sale.

FOLLOWUP: After wearing these shoes for several months I find that my heels start to hurt after a few hours of wearing them especially my right foot which is my worst foot. I wanted to be fair and give them a chance but they are not giving me the relief that I had hope for. I did not experience any problems with New Balance 1123 or the 926. I think I will try the 927's next since the 845's did not work for me.

5Keeping your balance!  Jun 03, 2009
By Joan M. Key "Retired Mamaw"
This is my third pair of New Balance shoes! I love them because they are comfortable, supportive & and best of all, the roll bar! The roll bar keeps your feet straight if they have a tendency to lean inward or outward! These are the only shoes I will ever buy. NEW BALANCE WALKING SHOES!!!! THEY ARE GREAT!!!!!
