great shoe for foot problems Jun 04, 2011
By Nana I purchased this shoe about a month ago and have been very pleased with how comfortable and supportive it has been for my feet. I have a history of tendonitis and plantar fasciitis and so far this shoe has felt great! I am on my feet a lot and have been wearing New Balance for several years at the recommendation of my doctor. One concern I had about ordering this particular shoe on line was that some reviews said it ran small. I did not find this to be true. However I wear a wide size so that may be why my usual size worked fine. It is hard to find high end New Balance support shoes, especially those with numbers in the 800's, in stores and I usually have to go out of town to a speciality shoe store. It was so convenient to be able to order on line!

Great cross training shoe Dec 05, 2010
By Seymar This is my third pair. Great shoe. I usually wear an 8-1/2 but wear a 9 2A in this shoe. The numbering (WX856) increases by one each year. My first pair was an 854.

perfect shoe to balance my exercise Oct 28, 2011
By Karen Kuzsel Wagner I ankles overpronate and a podiatrist recommended NB rollbar shoes many years ago. Thanks all I wear since then. Usually though, I wear an extra NB arched sole with an extra orthotic piece inserted on the inside as my arches are flat from years of dancing barefoot... and ok, maybe age. The new 856 are awesome. I bought the new style arch insoles (without needing the additional orthotic piece) and my feet are dancing merrily. I do jazzercize 3-5 days a week and I know these shoes are what makes that feasible.

Super comfortable for tough workouts! Sep 07, 2011
By Melissa Johnson I bought these shoes on the recommendation of the New Balance staff, so I was a little skeptical. I was looking for a crosstrainer that had leather uppers (I hate the mesh on shoes)and offered a lot of support as I have plantar fasciitis. I take exercise classes a lot and the wrong shoes leave me in a lot of pain, but these are great! I did get them for about $50 cheaper on Amazon than I would have from the New Balance website too :)
Best shoe so far! Apr 17, 2012
By Lisa S, Just ordered 2nd pair of these New Balance WX856 Training shoes and I couldn't be happier. I have had custom orthodics for about 7+ years hoping to solve my foot problems that were serious enough to take pain meds just to be able to work in a factory. New Balance and Ryka have always worked best for me on the cement but by the 4th week of wear my feet would begin feeling very tired and start hurting before my work day was over. When I would get home my feet hurt so bad that it was very difficult to even do any amount of housework and to go to the gym was out of the question. Since I purchased these shoes I have been amazed how Great they are! Going on over 2 months on the first pair and they still feel Great!!!I Love the Rollbar feature in these shoes! I believe that this feature is what makes me not feel like I am walking barefoot on cement. I have to commend the New Balance website that gave me personal advice on this shoe when I told them of my foot problems. This really is the "Best Shoe So Far in the 7+ years" that I have been desperate for a good shoe!
