Great for getting outa pickles! Dec 08, 2011
By bennythejet My friends and I were playing baseball and we accidentally hit a Babe Ruth signed baseball into someones yard, which was occupied by a massive dog that ate objects and children. These shoes gave me that extra burst of speed needed to retrieve the ball and escape the yard before the beast could catch me. He jumped the fence though and chased me around the neighborhood, through a movie screen and under a giant cake. I can honestly say without these shoes, I never would have had the opportunity to play for the Dodgers. I highly recommend these shoes!

By Rock Luv'r We bought these for my son and he loves them. They are made well and he runs twice as fast and jumps twice as high.

Better than Chucks! Nov 11, 2008
By J. P. Morski I've been a fan of Converse Chuck Taylor "Chucks" for years and always have several pairs on the go but these PF Flyers, I tell you, are even better and I am definitely a new fan now. Just like the Chucks, they are the 'old school' high-top style with the canvas uppers, rubber toe cap, rubber bumpers and rubber sole. I bought the navy ones but will also get some in the other colours, too. They are incredibly comfortable to wear because of the built-in arch supports inside the sole which distribute your weight more evenly than a regular pair of sneakers. I wear these everywhere except the office and get compliments all the time. The canvas and the rubber have a bit of a strong smell which offends some but, personally, I kind of like it. Reminds me they are on my feet! These sneakers are definitely NOT to be missed! And, more over, you can't do any better at this price.

Classic shoes Sep 28, 2007
By ARC I usually wear `80s-style running shoes, but this summer I wanted to go even more retro and get some canvas high tops. Converse and some of the other better-known brands had some flashy styles and patterns that looked fun, but when I actually checked them out in-store I was amazed at how noticeably shoddy even the models on display were: the foxing (side rubber strip) and toes were poorly vulcanized and looked like they'd start separating in weeks, not months, and most of the soles were made of a hard rubber with a strange flocked treatment that looked and felt dangerously slippery.
So in the end, for about $5 more than my local store was selling Chuck Taylors, I went with the PF Flyers Center Hi. These are visibly better-made than most of the canvas sneakers I've seen in stores, and a good deal more comfortable. They look as though they'd be narrow, but the toe is surprisingly roomy. I have to stick in some orthopedic arch supports for my high arches, but otherwise the insole is well-padded and comfortable. If you're used to shoes with thick EVA midsoles like the Reebok Classic running shoes (which I also love), they take awhile to get used to, but you'll love them once you do.
After getting these, I recommend looking around online for sites with alternate lacing methods, both for fun and more practical reasons. For instance, I use a wider criss-cross pattern to make them fit comfortably around my higher instep.
Also, a nice little touch: pull out the insoles and look in your shoes for a little green square of fabric...

Great to see these available again! Jun 11, 2010
By Once in a while I find Chucks too narrow and uncomfortable. These have a bit more width across the area of the ball of the foot, and that makes a tremendous difference in fit and comfort.
Plus the insoles really do add extra padding and support, and they do shift your weight to the outside of the foot, making them comfortable to wear for much longer.
And of course it's great to have on a pair of P. F. Flyers again!
