I usually buy my kids Stride Rite shoes but my son fell in love with the Skechers Police hot-lights, so we purchased them. The lights stopped working almost immediately, and the light strip across the velcro strap actually broke into pieces and fell apart, leaving an exposed wire. We have a friend who purchased the shoes and had the same problem. It is impossible to get anyone to answer the phone to discuss the problems at [...]. I will never purchase their shoes for my children again - if I'm spending that much money, I expect a quality product.

My 3 year old has had these shoes for 1 week, and they are already falling apart. The stitching on the band across the top has come undone, leaving an exposed wire. I expect more from a $40 pair of children's shoes! We won't be buying this brand again.

This is the first negative review I have ever written because nothing has bothered me this bad. These shoes were purchased and saved to be worn at the beginning of the school year. My son made it through the first week fine. When I picked him up on Monday of the second week, the lights were not working on the front and outside of one shoe. The item would receive no stars if it weren't for the fact that they are "new". The outside, soles, material are fine--still clean and new even, but the lights, which is what we paid for, are broken. Unbelievable!

A little expensive in my world, but very well made and should last until he grows out of them! My son is really into Police and Firefighters and he absolutely loves these shoes!

We are sooo disappointed in these shoes. I'll give you all the condensed version: Bought the first pair, lights stopped working after 1 week; took them back to shoe store where we bought it and had to wait 2 weeks for Famous Footwear to send the replacements through the mail; they almost immediately stopped working also; went back to shoe store for the third time; got replacements for the replacements; it's been about 4 weeks and the lights no longer work (2 stay on, others just don't work at all), but even worse is the rubber outsole on the front third of the shoe is totally peeling away! This is exposing wires and creating a massive tripping hazard. We hot glued them, but you shouldn't have to glue 1 month old $50 shoes. And I doubt that will last too long. By the way, we also bought one of our daughters some Sketchers Twinkletoes shoes; they started falling apart (rubber letters coming off, etc) after about 2 weeks! We will NEVER buy Sketchers again.
