5Outstanding light hiking shoe  Nov 18, 2008
By J. Grynberg "Jess"
This is without question the best shoe purchase I've made, I think, ever.
The fit is perfect, great support, solid build, super comfortable and attractive to look at. I wear them just for going out and about and they are fantastic for longer outdoor walks.
The next pair I purchase will definitely be the same brand.
Can't say enough about them!

5groovy shoes  Sep 12, 2009
By Roseamber Sumner "Rosie 'story lady"
These shoes fit! They are comfy, stay tied, keep on truckin' even when I'm jogging along trying to keep up with the dog. They are even handsome. I like 'em a lot. I took them on a trip to Africa last winter and wore them almost every day, even hot ones inside a bus and experienced no discomfort.

3Ok after stretching and breaking in and buying larger size - but shouldn't have to do that!  Jun 02, 2010

Finding comfortable, affordable footwear THAT FITS has long been my mission. Between my grueling job that requires walking several miles per day on hard and wet floors, and my love of hiking/outdoors - comfortable, durable footwear is a must, and I've been sorely disappointed for many years. Since top brands manufacturers have gone overseas the toes are almost always too narrow and stiff.

I found that Vasque shoes run narrow in the toes, and are usually stiff in the toes, and so I have to order 1/2 size up and then still have to stretch the toes. This is maddening because a good pair of shoes should fit and be comfortable right out of the box, and who has time to waste - stretching and breaking in shoes before being able to wear them outside th home...

Due to having to buy longer shoes to get the toes to fit, and the design which makes them look even larger as the perimeters of the outer soles extend all around beyond the body of the shoes to make my feet look huge.

These shoes look and feel very well made - except for size, and stiffness of toes, and once they are stretched and broken in they are pretty comfortable.

I'm giving these a 3 star rating only because they are otherwise well made, and are fairly comfortable after stretching. I remember when shoes were made in the USA and actually fit and were comfortable right out of the box.

4Exactly what I expected  Apr 17, 2010
By Cheryl Bartlett
I tried these shoes on before I ordered them online so I knew they fit. They do run just a tad small, so would recommend you order 1/2 size larger than usual, which I did. Nice hiking shoe -- good support.

5great for the day hiker  Apr 25, 2010
By Cerileen
This shoe was comfortable, slip free, dry and had a firm fit for the 1-5 hour hikes I took during a recent vacation. Terrain ranged from flat and wet to loose (but dry) rocky mountainy surfaces. I bought them a half size big which was perfect for wearing thick wool socks. The laces are a bit slippery and had to be retied more frequently than I would have liked, but that can easily be replaced so no mark off the stars.
